But Cancer is not the only downside of animal consumption for human health. Further, plant-based foods are several times more energy-efficient than their animal-based counterparts, since “even the most efficient meat, chicken, requires 9 calories of input to produce just 1 calorie of food.” On the whole, less than 10% of feed calories or protein effectively get consumed as meat, milk, or egg calories.
